BOTOX

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) has a wide variety of uses. Most commonly, botox is used as a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Botox will prevent muscle movement, which in turn causes a relaxation of facial muscles, then causing the disappearance of wrinkles. It is done through injection, with very fine gauge needles. Patient may request local anesthetic cream applied to area of injections. Dr. Ocampo can discuss this more during consultation. Botox injections will be placed at certain facial muscles; Dr. Ocampo is an expert of anatomy of the facial muscles. Results will start to appear a few days after injection, typically 3 to 5 days. Botox is intended to be a treatment that works based on regular usage. This can ultimately cause the patient to eradicate the habit of frowning altogether.

DYSPORT

Dysport is used to treat moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Dysport will temporarily prevent muscle contractions which cause frown lines. Dr. Ocampo will place one injection into each of the 5 points above and between the eyebrows. Patients will typically see improvement in 2-3 days after treatment.
