WHAT IS AN ARM LIFT?

An arm lift is a surgical procedure that targets and reduces excess skin that is sagging or drooping. This surgery will tighten the tissues that support and define the upper arm area (reducing localized fat pockets in upper arm region.) An arm lift is used to treat the following:

  • Sagging skin under the arm
  • Fat pockets drooping towards the ground

WHY GET AN ARM LIFT?

With time, as one ages, skin may loose elasticity. Extreme weight fluctuations or genetic factors may also cause this drooping of the under arm area. If exercise has not achieved the results wanted, an arm lift procedure may be an option to consider for those patients who wish to correct this.

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

An arm lift surgery is generally performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Ocampo will determine best procedures for each individual patient. He will tailor incisions dependent upon appearance and the extent of the changes wanted. Dr. Ocampo will eliminate excess skin and fat, and supportive tissue will be tightened. Skin will ultimately be smoother and adhere to the new arm contour. Incisions will be closed with sutures. Swelling and bruising is normal. Recovery will reveal tighter and smoother upper arms, almost immediately.
