WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is a procedure that targets specific areas, in order to remove excess fat deposits and slim down the body. Liposuction will improve contours, and reshape the specific areas that are targeted. Liposuction is used to treat the following areas:
- Face: cheeks, chin, and neck
- Upper arms
- Chest
- Back
- Abdomen
- Waist and hips
- Buttocks
- Thighs
- Inner knee
- Calves and ankles
WHY HAVE LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is not a treatment or solution for obesity. Liposuction is effective removing excess fatty deposits in specific areas of the body; it does not treat cellulite or loose skin. Liposuction may be an option to consider for those patients who wish to improve the appearance of their body, through the removal of excess fat.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
Liposuction is generally performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Ocampo will determine best procedures for each individual patient. Liposuction requires only a small incision, barely noticeable. A hollowed out tube is inserted through the incision for the purpose of loosening the excess fatty deposits. The loose fat is then removed through a surgical vacuum or syringe. Swelling is normal. Recovery will reveal improved body shape and contours, almost immediately.
